Many people agree that pay is the most important part of a job, while other people say that they want a job that makes them happy. True money is nice, and yes a job that makes you happy will definitely make you a better employee. What about job security?

If you are considering taking the time out of your schedule to pursue a career that will involve attending a college or university, don’t you want to pursue a career path that will be around for years to come? No one wants to go headstrong into a career not knowing how long their job will be around after they graduate. Why dedicate time and energy to pursue a job I will not be there when you need it?

What are some job choices that will continue to have a need for more employees as the years go on? An easy choice or career selection would be that in the medical field. In fact, the need for employees and most medical fields is actually on the rise even in a weakened economy. Right away you might be thinking, wait, wait, wait…. I do not want to spend the next 4 to 6 years of my life in college so that I can pursue a medical career.

As in articles mentioned earlier, there are many different medical trades that can land you a well-paying job in the medical field in just under two years. You can pursue a career as a pharmacy technician, and land a job making $11 an hour with very little schooling involved. Attending an accredited university or college to receive your pharmacy technician certification will go a long way in helping your employer to decide whether or not to hire you.

There are other careers in the medical field that require two years of schooling but can earn you a great income almost immediately. Career paths such as an ultrasound technician, radiology technician in medical assisting are great ways to invest your time in a higher education if you want to have job security after graduation.

The medical field is just one area in which you might feel comfortable pursuing to ensure the longevity of your career. As long as people get sick you know that there will always be a need for doctors and nurses. Along with doctors and nurses, there will be a need for all the assistance that a technological degree will bring. Of course, as mentioned earlier it is important to make sure that you pursue a job that will make you happy, along with paying your monthly bills and choosing a career path that will be around for the rest of your life.

If you are unsure of pursuing a job in the medical field, take the time to visit doctors offices, hospitals and pharmacies. Many people will be more than willing to share their experiences of both schooling and how they feel about their job personally. Opinions from an outside source can go a long way to helping you decide whether or not a particular career may be right for you. True not everyone views the same career path in the same light, other people’s opinions will only help you to build a better understanding of what you can expect in a particular job.
